Quick Facts

All fabric, workmanship and installation are guaranteed for an amazing five years on all fixed-frame awnings. Retractable awnings carry a six year fabric and parts warranty. Vandalism and neglect are not covered by warranty. Fabric warranty applies to all awnings that are regularly cleaned. Please ask your salesman for details.

FABRIC — We use many types of materials for our awnings, from Sunbrella and European acrylics to 18 ounce vinyl laminates and backlit fabrics. All our our fabrics are top grade and come with a five year manufacturer's warranty. They are inherently UV resistant, mildew and rot resistant and are water proof/resistant.

THREAD — Tough polyester, heavy weight bonded threads, which are UV resistant as well as mildew and rot resistant.

BINDING — (loose valance only) We use the largest 7/8” European-style acrylic braid for extra durability and beauty.

SEWING — All seams are sewn twice using a handsome topstitch and all hems are sewn using a lock stitch. When grommets are installed, all hems are double-reinforced using a webbing sewn in. Grommets are #2 spur brass.

COVER ATTACHMENT - This is perhaps the most important factor in making your awning last. When the method used by most awning companies is used, the awning will most likely separate many years before the fabric needs to be replaced. This is because of the lace band or slat pocket tearing or rotting off at the weak point, the stitch line.

Let us show you how we attach then cloth directly to the frame by upholstery techniques, so that your awning will last many, many years to come. We guarantee it!

FRAMES - Our fully-welded frames are made of aluminum or steel, depending on the need. Generally, for standard awning sizes, aluminum is the preferred and best material for lasting beauty. For longer spans, galvanized steel Gatorshield is used.

FRAME FINISH OPTIONS - To further enhance the beauty of our awnings, we offer spraypainting with tough enamel paint. A wide range of colors are available.

POWDER COAT - This is the most expensive method, as frames have to be transported to a subcontractor who specializes in this oven-baked method. Colors are more limited than the spraypainting option.

Sunbrella

AWNING CARE - SUNBRELLA® fabric should be cleaned regularly before substances such as dirt, roof particles, etc., are allowed to accumulate on and become embedded in the fabric. The fabric can be cleaned without being removed from the frame. Simply brush off any loose dirt, roof particles, etc., then hose down and clean with a mild natural soap in lukewarm water (no more than 100º F.) Rinse thoroughly to remove soap. DO NOT USE DETERGENTS!

SUNBRELLA® may be dry cleaned, but a water repellent treatment must be applied to the fabric after dry cleaning to reestablish water repellency. SUNBRELLA® is made from 100% acrylic fiber and is thermoplastic or heat sensitive. When washing or cleaning, DO NOT SUBJECT TO EXCESSIVE HEAT as the fabric will shrink. DO NOT STEAM PRESS OR DRY IN ELECTRIC OR GAS DRYERS, but instead allow to air dry.
